What LifeExpect is for
LifeExpect is a free educational website for exploring a simple longevity calculation. You can enter a few details, see an illustrative result and inspect each adjustment that contributed to it.
The goal is to make the calculation understandable. The site does not provide a clinical assessment, an insurance quote or a personal lifespan forecast.
An open explanation
Our calculator uses fixed assumptions inherited from the original LifeExpect tool. They are not drawn from a current, validated life table. Rather than hiding that limitation, we publish the complete formula and settings, alongside a worked example and a guide to interpreting population statistics.
There is no account system. The calculation runs locally in your browser, and inputs are not saved by the calculator. Our privacy notice explains sharing, hosting and external links separately.
How the site is supported
The results area includes optional commercial resources from the existing site. These links are clearly disclosed as affiliate links: LifeExpect may receive a commission when someone purchases through them. Commercial links do not affect the calculation. They are not evidence that a product will improve health or extend life.
You do not need to open a commercial link or purchase anything to use the calculator or read the guides.

If you find a calculation error, inaccessible control or unclear explanation, email hello@lifeexpect.com. Include the page and what went wrong; you do not need to send medical history or personal calculator inputs.
LifeExpect does not claim professional medical credentials or endorsement by the organisations linked in its guides. References are provided for further reading, with their role clearly described.
